Focused, Individualized ABA Intervention
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is the leading form of evidence-based intervention for a range of neurodiverse learners, most notably for those on the autism spectrum. In my application of ABA, I provide focused, individualized, and evidence-based interventions to help learners practice new skills in context, meet their behavioral goals, and develop skills for daily life. I incorporate elements of Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) and use a Positive Behavior Support approach to build robust skill repertoires to benefit individuals and their families. I strive to do so in a way that honors one’s neurodiversity and individuality.
Data Collection
Thorough and functional data analysis is essential to applying the science of behavior in a way that supports meaningful change and results in an improved quality of life. Using the Standard Celeration Chart and the instructional principles of Precision Teaching, I collect and chart data in real-time and engage in data analysis on both micro and macro levels. This allows intervention to target both the smaller component skills of a developing repertoire, as well as the larger/broader composite skills that support “bigger picture” behavior change.

Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT)

Standard Celeration Society
“Our members are pragmatists who use the standard graphic data display called the standard celeration chart (deceleration or acceleration) to monitor ongoing performance, and changes in performance (`learning' or celeration) so that we can better understand and make decisions that affect individuals, groups, whole organizations, and support research and development in many fields.” Visit the SCS
Precision Teaching
Precision Teaching is a disciplined system of instruction and analysis that uses frequency rather than percent correct to determine progress, as well as the very important principle that the learner is always right. To this end, and using the Standard Celeration Chart, both instructor and learner behavior can be shaped to support the learner in contacting growth on the target behavior. Learn more here
positive behavior support
“Positive Behavior Support (PBS) is a set of research-based strategies used to increase quality of life and decrease problem behavior by teaching new skills and making changes in a person's environment. Positive behavior support combines valued outcomes, validated procedures, and systems change to enhance quality of life. “ Learn more here
